The Ascendor 45L Mountain Pack by Rab is a technical alpine and expedition backpack designed to offer total versatility in contexts ranging from mixed winter ascents to the most challenging adventures that require carrying bivouac gear. With a base weight of 1.31 kg, this model has been engineered to be fully modular: by removing the top lid, the internal HDPE panel, and the hip belt, the weight drops to just 0.72 kg, transforming a solid load-bearing structure into an extremely streamlined summit pack. Made from high-tenacity recycled ripstop nylon with a water-repellent and snow-resistant coating, the Ascendor 45 integrates the TRI-FLEX™ back system that ensures a snug and comfortable fit, allowing for fluid movements even on the most rugged terrain. The removable lid protects a drawstring closure with a compression flap, while a smart side access zip allows for managing the rope or retrieving gear from the bottom without having to empty the entire compartment. Designed for those practicing fast and light alpine climbing on multi-day objectives, the backpack is equipped with an integrated RECCO® reflector for safety, reinforced attachments for ice axes, an A-frame ski carry system, and daisy chain loops for securing external loads. Compatibility with hydration reservoirs up to 3 liters, a robust metal main buckle, and dual side compression straps complete a no-compromise technical setup, capable of withstanding rock abrasions and the rigors of the most extreme alpine conditions.
